I have been playing Phantasmagoria I again and have been keeping my eye out on any new eggs or observations that are not mentioned on the official Curiosities page.

Here are some that are either new or are old and were mentioned on the old Sierra forum but are not present on the new one.

In Chapter 1, the coffee cups are still sitting on the kitchen table after Don and Adrienne have finished with them. From Chapter 2 onwards, they are not present.

When Ethel finally lets Adrienne in to see Malcolm, you will see that with the way she closes the door, it should close right on her hand.

Each time after you finish talking to Lou Ann, the cuckoo clock will will chirp and the chime will ring three times, even though time has obviously passed while you are taking to her.

How can Adrienne hear Don scream out when he is knocked off of the stool in Chapter 1, when she is three floors down from him?

In Chapter 5, you see the mirrors etc with swirly fog in them and by looking into them, you can see Carno murder his various wives. If you go the basement, you will see that one of the wine caskets also has a swirly fog in it as well. However, you cannot interact with it until Chapter 6.

As to question on the Curiosities page about there not being fresh paints in the Conservatory, when you click on Leonora's painting in that room, you will see that next to it are brushes and paints.

Another question on the Curiosities page. Lou Ann says that Malcolm is "around 110 years old". Not that he is 110 years old.

When Adrienne reads the newspaper article about Carno's show in the Library, she adds the word "are" after the text, "of course". This is not present in the actual text.

As for the teddy bear being in the baby's room, like the TV, Adrienne may have brought that into the room when they moved in.

The dictionary in Lou Ann's shop is called "Wevster's Dictionary". Probably to avoid copyright infringement.

There is a coffee mug in Lou Ann's shop that looks like it says, "Just Say No".

That is all for now. Unfortunately, when I am going to the dragon table in the Conservatory, I am getting a "ntvdm.exe has stopped working" error, so I cannot get past that point until I can figure out what is causing it.

Well actually, when Don screams, he is in the darkroom on the second floor while Adrienne is in the chapel on the first floor. Still, the distance between the two rooms is far enough to warrant some scrutiny :D

Yeah, I realized that after I posted that.

Still, he yelled pretty darn loud. :D

I need to get back to the game and finish it. I was just at the part when Adrienne is locked in the house and the car sounds start when she is trying to open the doors.

This is going to be fun. It has been about 6-7 years since played Chapter 7, so I am sure I will get her killed a good number of times. :D

Just a followup, I went over to the Curiousities page and see that a few other questions there could possibly be answered.

Why are the letters Carno and Marie wrote still sitting in desk drawers? Carno and Marie should have sent them to Jeremiah and Gaston already, shouldn't they? -- Mako Thunderbird

I have a feeling that those letters were either intercepted by Carno, or were never sent. More likely the latter, since if they were intercepted by Carno you would think that they would be in his dresser.

Attempt to leave the house through one of the two doors in Chapter 7. As they slam shut, you can hear the sounds of a car door opening and closing. What do you suppose that was?! -- Mako Thunderbird (10-28-2003)

This one has always puzzled me as well. I assume it is Don driving either the Phone Guy's van or their car around the outside of the house and barn and planting the bodies that Adrienne finds as she goes along in Chapter 7. Or driving away the van in order not incriminate himself in the Phone Guy's murder.

For the second one, I've also thought about a couple of things.

The sound might imply that all the other doors/windows useable for escape in the mansion are also shutting and locking.

Or, it might have been a misplaced soundbite that the developers overlooked.

i think maybe it was don moving the phone guy's van cuz you don't see him until later on during the chapter and **spoiler** you don't see the van there at the end when adrienne is walking out of the house. not that i remember, anyways, it has been a few years since i last played...

or mostly i agree with you, mako. prob a soundbite that got misplaced. hey, this game was made in the 90's and nobody's perfect. ;) it still is an amazing game! :)

I lean more towards Don driving the van away, so as not to implicate himself in the murder. It makes sense, since you do not see the van in Chapter 7. (and maybe the latter stages of Chapter 6 as well, IIRC)

And since he was hiding the bodies, it stands to reason that he would hide the van as well.

Another question from the Curiousities page:

Who painted the "original" painting in the conservatory as seen in Chapter 1?

I think we are to assume that either Carno (in demon-possessed form) or the demon itself is painting the picture as the days go along as a warning (or omen) to Adrienne.

Of course, I suppose it is not out of the question that Lenora, (who if I recall correctly, was the artist wife), painted it as a warning for Adrienne to get out of the house to save her life.
