I usually don't have trouble with this sort of thing, but I just can't get the eye from those witches at the right time. Someone always gets me and I'm thrown into the cauldron. Does anyone have any tips? I've probably tried it dozens of times, at different speeds. How did you guys do it?

Slow the game down and just take it one step at a time... step forward, try to take it, step forward, try again.

If the witch chasing you is the one who catches you, another good strategy is to walk around on the bottom left hand corner of the cauldron. Make sure you're far down enough that you can easily move to the right around the cauldron and then come up to the other two witches on the side. In other words, you're trying to get the witch chasing you to get trapped by the cauldron, since her moves basically mirror yours.
