I don't have the game in question but are you sure you're thinking of the correct thing here? Even with the online multiplayer no longer supported that usually shouldn't affect playing on a LAN. It would only stop you from playing the game with others over the web.

ydkj 5 needed a special patch in order to use lan mode since it was initally online nly.... and now the patch site is goen so i cant reisntall my copy and get lan mode going b/c it just searches for the onlien server that doesnt exist
