Ok, so I keep clicking on the books, and trying to talk to the bookworm, but all he will say is "hey no touching the goods son" and "no one here!" how do I make him talk about the hanging participle? i tried going to the isle of the beast anyway to see if it would show up but it wont. i dont think i have missed a step, i dealt with the gnomes, got the milk, the rotten tomato, the nightingale, and then the flute, got the hole in the wall, the red queens scarf, talked to the book keeper, the pawn man, the ferrier, picked up the ring, the coin, the ink bottle, the flower the feather, the ice berg, the hunters lamp, the brick the book, the love paper in the spiders web, the where sentence thing, the love poem, and the map, and so far thats everything the guides have told me to do, please help?

A bookworm just might be interested in a... book! Try that.

I tried clicking on the pile of books with a book, and the poem page he has, but it just says "theres no reason to use that on the books" for them both, and i tried reading them both next to where the book worm should come out.

In a game such as this one, you can't actually make such interactions unless ALEXANDER knows to make them. In other words, does Alexander have a reason to question the Bookworm?

It sounds like you forgot to try and get the spell book from the bookshop. Once you've put the hand icon on the book then speak to the bookshop owner and learned that you need a rare book, you should be able to talk to the bookworm.
